Important Details on CANOLA oil You Should Know

Howard Garrett Weekly eNewsletter

This article from the “Vanessa Run Blog” is right on. Canola is bad oil, a bad fat. It’s one of the worse things Whole Foods and other “health” stores continue to sell and they need to change. Look carefully at the labels of their prepared foods and you’ll see canola used as the oil frequently.
Olive oil comes from olives. Sesame seed oil comes from sesame seeds. But what is a canola? Canola is actually a made-up word for a genetically modified product.
Canola stands for “Canadian oil low acid.” It’s (sadly) a Canadian invention and subsidized by the government. The subsidies make it very cheap to use, so almost all processed or packaged foods contain canola oil. Be sure to read the ingredients. Here’s why you should:
THE SCOOP ON CANOLA
Canola oil is developed from the rapeseed plant, which is part of the mustard family of plants. These oils have long been used for industrial purposes (in candles, lipsticks, soaps, inks, lubricants, and befouls). It’s industrial oil, not a food.
Rapeseed oil is the source behind mustard gas, and on its own, it causes emphysema, respiratory distress, anemia, constipation, irritability, and blindness. But through the beauty of genetic modification, we now sell it as edible oil.
The claim is that canola is safe to use because through modification it is no longer rapeseed but “canola.” Except… canola is just genetically modified rapeseed. It has been marketed as wonder oil that is low in saturated fats with a beneficial omega-3 fatty acid profile. It is recognized by the American Dietetic Association and the American Heart Association based on the belief that the absence of saturated fats alone makes it healthy.
It is now believed that rapeseed has a cumulative effect, taking almost 10 years before symptoms begin to manifest. One possible effect of long-term use is the destruction of the protective coating surrounding nerves called the myelin sheath. This is like having raw, open wires in the body. Some symptoms include:

tremors and shaking
uncoordination when walking or writing
slurred speech
deterioration of memory and thinking processes
fuzzy or low audio levels
difficulty urinating/incontinence
breathing problems/short of breath
nervous breakdown
numbness and tingling in extremities
heart problems/arrhythmia

From a nutritional perspective, canola oil has been found to deplete Vitamin E. It has a tendency to inhibit proper metabolism of foods and normal enzyme function. It also depresses the immune system.
______________
One of my listeners (Matilda) suggested an alternative to canola — clarified butter. It is milk fat rendered from butter to separate the milk solids and water from the butterfat. Typically, it is produced by melting butter and allowing the different components to separate by density. The water evaporates, some solids float to the surface and are skimmed off, and the remainder of the milk solids sink to the bottom and are left behind when the butter fat (which would then be on top) is poured off.
Ghee is oil with a long, fascinating history. Ghee has been a staple in Indian cooking for centuries. Besides being a practical way to preserve butter, Ghee was renowned for its medicinal and rejuvenates qualities. Ayurveda, the ancient natural healing system of India, regards Ghee as a vital food for healthy skin, mental clarity, and good digestion… a food for balancing all body types.
Certified Organic Ghee (clarified butter) from grass fed , pastured cows is salt free, lactose and casein free, Kosher and has no GMO’s (No Genetically Modified Organisms)

Got Milk? Pasturized vs Raw

I don’t drink milk. I haven’t liked milk since I was very young. Here’s why, not why I don’t drink milk, I just don’t like it, but why it’s really good not to drink it or feed it to your kids. I see milk as being no different then Coke or Pepsi, so let’s talk milk.

• The price of killing the pathogenic bacteria in milk by pasteurization and homogenization is that you also kill the good bacteria which helps digest milk and make it such a nourishing food.

• Many Proteins and Enzymes are completely destroyed or denatured which makes them less digestible and less usable by your body.

• Immunoglobulins, metal-binding proteins, vitamin-binding proteins, carrier proteins, growth factors, and anti-microbial peptides such as Lactoferrin are all destroyed.

• Many vitamins and minerals are rendered biologically unusable

• Fats are damaged and destabilized

Additionally, the bacteria killed by pasteurization are not removed, so their dead carcasses remain in the milk to ignite immune reactions in those who ingest them, which is one major cause of milk allergies. It isn’t really an allergy to the milk itself, but to the organic cell fragments it contains. Yuk.

Making matters worse, cows in CAFOs (Confined Animal Feeding Operations) are routinely given drugs in an effort to counter the ill health and immune problems caused by their poor living conditions. Feedlots are breeding grounds for all kinds of harmful bacteria. So the cows are snowed with antibiotics.

Our milk HAS to be pasteurized, because it is simply loaded with bacteria—and not the beneficial kind.

Researchers using a highly sensitive test to determine what drugs and hormones might be present in YOUR pasteurized store bought milk found some startling results. Yes they did. The drugs and hormones they detected in milk included the following:

Anti-inflammatories like:
niflumic acid
mefenamic acid
ketoprofen
diclofenac
phenylbutazone
naproxen
flunixin
diclofenac

Antibiotics like:
florfenicol

The sex hormone:
17-beta-estradiol

The anti-fungal drug:
Triclosan (check your toothpaste for that too)

The Steroidal Hormone:
17-alpha-ethinylestradiol)

The Anti-malaria drug:
pyrimethamine

According to RealMilk.com, the United States’ largest recorded outbreak of Salmonella resulted from pasteurized milk, but alarmingly, the CDC never issued a specific Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report for this outbreak. There were 200,000 sick people and 18 of us died. This happened between July of 1984 until April of 1985.

The CDC and FDA have never issued a warning against commercially pasteurized milk but the war on raw milk is on.

CDC and FDA keep statistics on raw milk illnesses and deaths. They cite 2 deaths between 1998 and 2008 and other data regarding illnesses. No one has ever died from drinking raw milk, I promise. The statistics are seriously flawed and pure fantasy. I won’t take the time to explain this here now. You’ll have to believe me or do the research yourself.

Some of the many reasons we humans originally drank raw milk 100s and 1000s of years ago are fascinating:

It’s full of more than 60 digestive enzymes, growth factors, and immunoglobulins (antibodies), it’s rich in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which fights cancer, it’s rich in beneficial raw fats, amino acids, and proteins in a highly bioavailable form, all 100 percent digestible and it’s loaded with vitamins (A, B, C, D, E, and K) in highly bioavailable forms, and a very balanced blend of minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron) whose absorption is enhanced by live lactobacilli.

It is not uncommon for people who drink raw milk to experience improvement or complete resolution of troubling health issues—everything from allergies to digestive problems to eczema. It is also common for people who have “milk allergies” to tolerate raw milk just fine. Pasteurized milk is a completely different story.

I can’t get raw milk in Minneapolis easily. I can get it, but not easily. So I don’t drink store bought milk. It looks like Coke and Pepsi to me, but worse, if that’s possible.

Considering Alternative Medicine

In The Following Paragraphs I Will Be Speaking About Alternative Medicine by anonymous

Alternative medicine is a thing that more and more folks are beginning to look into, but you will find loads of information on the subject and it can be confusing. You will also find that most people do not really take the time to think about the ways they are looking after their body and the effects that their choices can be having on their health. If you happen to be one of the folks who don’t think or perhaps worry about what they put in their bodies, you may not realize all of the unwanted effects that traditional medications have on your body.

Just so you realize, alternative medicines are one thing that can help you deal with different ailments that you may suffer from with out having to take drugs. However you will discover that alternative medicine is more popular than it has ever been and it just keeps becoming more popular each year.

Currently I have been writing increasingly more articles about alternative medicine and because it is something which really can help your health, I decided to write an article introducing people to alternative medicine. This could be something that can be seen as a personal interest because I have never liked the idea of taking prescriptions. I’ve always been very cautious about taking any type of drugs that are prescribed by doctors do to the damaging effects these drugs can have. The one thing that really boggles my mind is how individuals can still take these prescription drugs when you hear about all the side effects right from the drug companies themselves. These types of drug companies will give you a drug that is meant to cure something but these prescription drugs then end up creating other health problems, that again lead to taking more prescription drugs.

This of course, is one of the primary reasons that more and more folks are looking into alternative medicine as an alternative. You should realize that these folks are looking for these kinds of alternative medicines because they want to heal their bodies and not have negative effects on other aspects of their health. I don’t know about you but to me, if I want to treat myself it makes much more sense to me to make use of natural techniques than to wind up filling my body with damaging chemicals as well as drugs.

The point of this article was simply to let people know that there really are other alternatives you have instead of taking drugs prescribed by a physician. You will see that it is your option when it comes to the food items you eat, the particular drinks you drink, and of course the medicines and treatments that you select. While I feel that alternative, natural options are the best choice for my body, you have to decide what you think is best for you. For anybody looking for more information on alternative medicine you will be able to discover loads of books and also guides online that can provide you with a more detailed explanation why alternative medicine may just be your best option.
